Daryn Pittman Cruises to World of Outlaws Sprint Series Victory in Wichita - Wichita, KS — April 23, 2005 — By Chris Dolack, World of Outlaws Senior Writer ...It had been so long since his last World of Outlaws Sprint Series victory that even Daryn Pittman wondered whether he would win again. But in the Wichita Twister Showdown Saturday night at 81 Speedway, the Mean 15 driver erased any doubts with a dominating performance in his Titan Racing USA machine. Pittman was the fastest qualifier, he won the Stacker 2® Dash and drove away from Steve Kinser on a restart in the main event with six laps to go for his first A-main feature victory since winning Aug. 3, 2003. The victory Saturday night also marks the first win on the World of Outlaws Sprint Series circuit for car owner and Australia native Reeve Kruck. Following Pittman and Kinser to the checkered flag were Brooke Tatnell, Jason Meyers, Kraig Kinser, Danny Lasoski and Paul McMahan. “They’re all good, but this win ranks probably as high as my first one,” said Pittman, whose troubled 19th-place run Friday at Outlaw Motor Speedway made leading all 35 laps Saturday for the $10,000 victory all the more sweet as the series next heads to historic Knoxville Raceway. “It’s been so long since we won a race. I’ve had a lot of really good people stay behind me throughout that whole time. They probably wondered if we were ever going to win another one, and it had entered my mind a lot, too. It would probably rank up there in the top two or three.” (More)

...Daryn Pittman is right on the money when he says of race team continuity, "Having everyone return is so important to us. When you look at the guys and teams that have been really successful, their teams have been together for a while. Steve (Kinser) and Scott Gerkin, Mark and Karl Kinser, Danny (Lasoski) and Jimmy Carr prove that to win consistently you need to have consistency within your race team. I hope someday people will throw Daryn Pittman and Joe Gaerte into that same category." Pittman and Joe G. won the Historical Big One last year at Eldora, good for $100,000.

...Daryn Pittman is running strong right now. The Oklahoma driver will be among the outlaws trying the Delta Bowl Speedway. Daryn said this week, “I'm excited about our first race at Delta Bowl. He said it reminds him a lot of Lone Star Speedway (in Kilgore,TX), a high-banked 4/10-mile oval. Any time there's more bank to a track I seem to do better."

...Daryn Pittman is excited about his motor program right now. After a recent win, Pittman said, "Joe (Gaerte) and the guys at Gaerte Engines have got us some new motors and these Mopars really run strong. ...Joe Gaerte knows motors. He says of his new deal to build Mopars for Daryn Pittman, "They (Mopar) are getting into this thing pretty big. ...People are looking for changes, and this would seem to be as good as any. I think by the time Daryn and Danny Lasoski get going running these Mopars you'll see a lot more guys running them too. The blocks are lot more durable, and the parts seem to be a lot more refined and easier to work with. The people at Mopar also have been real receptive to making changes, and that's important to make this become better and better. I really see a lot of potential with this program."
