On lap 21, Brent Kaeding took the lead when Allard hopped the cushion. Tim Kaeding was now in the top-five, and moved past Jason Statler on lap 37 to claim runner-up honors. Iowa visitor, Terry McCarl, moved into the top-three with a late flourish to join Brent and Tim Kaeding on the front chute after the race. Statler wound up fourth, with Paul McMahan driving from 15th to 5th.
The bulk of the $80,000 purse was paid according to the final points tally. After Champion, Tim Kaeding, runner-up honors went to Swindell. Sammy pocketed $5,000 for second. The $4,000 for third went to McCarl, while $3,000 was taken hone by Blake Robertson. McMahan earned $2,500 for fifth. The second five included Brent Kaeding, Steve Kent , Meyers, Roger Crockett, and Kurt Nelson.
Heat races were highly entertaining with eight cars inverted in each race. Heat wins were taken by Statler, Allard, Ricci Faria, Steven Tiner, and Crockett.
