Pittman is hot. He sweeps Princeton National. – By Chris DolackPrinceton, MN. July 29, 2006 - In one of the most thrilling races of the season, Daryn Pittman held off a hard charging Jac Haudenschild, Craig Dollansky, and Donny Schatz for the A-Feature win in the finale of the PolyDome Princeton Nationals.

Pittman driving the Titan Garages/Hop-n-Sack Convenience Stores Maxim took the lead on the third lap of the race, and led until the 10th lap. The he regained the lead after falling back to third, when Brooke Tatnell sustained a shredded right rear tire on lap-11, and Donny Schatz on the ensuing restart slid off the banking in the first turn, and subsequently had to restart at the rear of the field.

From there, Pittman led the final 28 laps, but was challenged countless times by Haudenschild in the Wright One Construction Maxim, as well as Dollansky in the Karavan Trailers Maxim. Haudenschild just edged Dollansky at the finish line for the runner-up spot.

Donny Schatz brilliantly worked his way from the rear of the field slicing through traffic, to finish fourth in the ParkerStore J&J. He made it all the way up to the second spot with just a couple laps left.

Jason Solwold in the City Wide Insulation Maxim rounded out the top five, after starting seventh.

Joey Saldana in the Mopar-powered Dodge/Curb Records JEI, came home sixth. Brooke Tatnell, who led early before suffering the tire problem, recovered to finish seventh in the Race Outfitters Eagle. Paul McMahan was eighth in the Bass Pro Shops Eagle. Terry McCarl came home ninth in the Big Game Treestands Eagle. Chad Kemenah rounded out the top-10 in the RacinSoles.com/Underground Utility Inc. Eagle.
