Haulmark All Star Sprint Results - Butler Motor Speedway - Sat. 8/7/04 By Scott Hall QUINCY, MI -

Danny Smith and Chad Blonde brought the field down for the green flag with Smith leading over Blonde and third starting Shepard. Shepard, who used the lower groove of the speedway, began pressuring Blonde, and they were side by side several times before Shepard took over second on lap 10. Smith kept command through several caution flag periods, and following a lap 17 restart Shepard kept Smith right in his sights. Smith rode Butler's high groove and Shepard was good on the bottom of the racetrack. Shepard kept cutting into Smith's lead and took over the top spot with a low move off turn four on lap 22.

From that point on, he pulled away from Smith for an easy win in the No. 6 Eagle Chassis.Smith began fading, losing second to Kemenah on lap 27. All Star points leader Kemenah ended up second with Jeremy Campbell third and Smith ending up fourth. Greg Wilson started ninth and was up to fifth by the halfway point. He ended up fifth ahead of Ken Mackey.

Mackey was running sixth on lap 17 when he executed a 360 degree spin, dropping him back to eighth. But Mackey fought back to sixth at the end. Byron Reed, in his first career Butler appearance, started 16th and ended up seventh, ahead of Brock Mayes, Blonde and Tim Hunter.
